Profile

50% win rate · 40-tick stop and 40-tick target · 2 trades a day

The profile only fills in example values. What matters is that the win rate, stop and target are yours: adjust them below.

Not sure which one you are?

Look at your usual stop and target. If the target is smaller than the stop, scalper; if they are about the same, balanced; if it is twice as big or more, swing for runners. If you keep a trading journal, use your real numbers.

%

Out of 100 trades, how many hit the target before the stop.

Where do I get my win rate?
  1. Our trading journal: import your trades and it works it out for you.
  2. Your platform: in NinjaTrader, New → Trade Performance, the “Percent profitable” field. Tradovate and your firm's dashboard have something similar.
  3. By hand: out of your last 50-100 trades, count how many hit the target. With fewer than 50, the number is not reliable.

If you don't know, put 50% and look at the ±5-point range in the result: almost all of us overestimate ourselves.

ticks

ticks

For a 50K account. On the others they are scaled to the account size: half on a 25K, three times as many on a 150K.

On a 50K account you risk $200 to make $200 per trade (before commissions). Edge per trade: -$14.70 after commissions.

With these numbers you lose money on average on every trade, counting commission and slippage. Some accounts may still get paid, but that will be luck, not your way of trading. To break even you would need a win rate above 54%.

months

If you haven’t passed by then, you quit. That is how firms count abandoned accounts: as failed.

months

The time you give it to reach the payouts before you quit.

When you get paid

You withdraw what the firm allows, but you keep at least half of the drawdown above the floor (or the firm’s buffer, if it is larger) and you don’t request payouts under $100.

Accounts with unverified data

Accounts we can't calculate

They're missing an essential rule and we'd rather not make it up.

  • TradeDay · Quick Pay · Intraday · 25K — Missing: max contracts

Para qué te sirve

  • Choose by how you trade, not by the discount

The cheapest account isn't the one that suits you best.

  • See which rule would blow your account before it happens

    Drawdown, daily loss limit, consistency.

  • Work out how many contracts suit you

The safest size and the most profitable one for each account.

Before you trust the numbers

These are simulated results. Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations: they do not represent actual trading and may not account for market factors such as liquidity. No past or simulated result guarantees future results.

This is not financial advice. It's a tool to compare rules against one specific way of trading.

The official rules prevail. We check every account on the firm's website and link the source, but rules change. Check them there before buying.

Affiliate commissions don't affect the order. Some firms pay us if you buy through our link; the list is sorted only by the metric you choose.

What the simulation assumes

  • Inside each trade the price moves randomly, with the edge your win rate implies. That decides whether a trailing drawdown that follows the high catches you before the trade closes.
  • On the funded account you request a payout as soon as you can, for up to 3 payouts, and withdraw what the firm allows while leaving a buffer of at least half of the drawdown above the floor. In “Advanced” you can choose to withdraw everything allowed.
  • If consistency keeps you from passing or getting paid, you keep trading the same way until you meet it: no “padding” days with small size.
  • By default, the contracts you enter are for a 50K account and are scaled to the size of the others. If an account doesn’t allow that many, it trades the maximum it allows (and follows its scaling plan).
  • Every account is simulated with 1,000 paths and the best ones with 10,000. All use the same random numbers, so differences between accounts come from the rules, not from luck.
  • The simulation isn’t endless: if within 3 months you neither pass nor fail the evaluation, you quit, and the same if within 6 months funded you neither get paid nor lose the account. It is what most people do and how firms count it: not a lost account, but not passed or paid either. You can change it in “Advanced”.
  • You can trade less than once a day: then there are days with no trades, and time still passes for time limits, monthly fees and how long you try.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly does the prop firm pass calculator compute?
With your win rate, stop, target, contracts and trades per day, it simulates the evaluation and the funded account of every futures prop firm thousands of times under their real rules. It tells you how many out of 100 traders like you pass, how many reach the first, second and third payout, the average cost of each payout and which rule kills the most accounts.
Why are the odds of getting paid so much lower than the odds of passing?
Because passing isn't getting paid. The funded account has its own drawdown, and the first payout usually requires profitable days, a buffer above the starting balance and sometimes consistency. Many passed accounts are lost before getting there.
What win rate should I enter if I don't know it?
The one from your journal if you have at least 100 trades with the same stop and target. If not, start with the closest profile and look at the “5 points off” band: with 50 trades, an observed 60% could really be 46% or 72%.
Why does an intraday trailing drawdown come out worse than end-of-day?
Because the intraday one rises with the highest point your trade reaches, even if you don't close there. The calculator simulates the path inside each trade, so a trade that runs in your favor, reverses and stops out moves the floor up before it loses.
Does the discount count in the cost per payout?
Yes: it uses the price with our code when the firm has a discount, plus activation, monthly fees, funded data fees and resets when you fail. FTMO Futures has no discount program and shows its list price.
Where do each account's rules come from?
From each firm's official website, checked by hand account by account, with a link to the source in the details. Accounts with any unconfirmed data are marked “unverified data” and left out of the main ranking.
